At the end of summer term, 13 Y5 pupils applied to be an Althorpe and Keadby Primary School Sports Ambassador.
Their letters of application were outstanding, all agreed they are the strongest letters of application we have ever had at Althorpe and Keadby. Each candidate interviewed well and Mr Anderson and Mr Hazon, our PE governor were so impressed with their confidence, passion and their ability to communicate clearly under pressure.
The chosen pupils demonstrated that they had reflected well on what the previous ambassadors had achieved and ways in which they could move the role forwards and make their work even better within the school day. They had a clear understanding of the personal qualities needed to support other pupils with PESSPA at school.
The ambassadors meet Mr Anderson and Mrs Tate fortnightly to discuss their work in school.
The Sports Ambassadors undertake Sports Force leadership training from the Get Ahead Partnership. They will then support and lead;
- lunchtime activities and clubs
- help children to play
- support at House Competitions
- support at LA competition
- lead warm ups in PE lessons
- lead 121 fundamental sessions in KS1
- support the PE lead in whole school PESSPA sessions/days
