Mental Health and Wellbeing
It is widely recognised that a child’s emotional health and wellbeing influences their learning and is crucial and key to their happiness and stability throughout life. At Althorpe and Keadby we fully recognise the increasing need for this to be supported not only for our children but also for our families.
The whole ethos of our school promotes respect, excellence and friendship and we ensure that we support our children to be the very best that they can be. The curriculum has been tailored to promote resilience and the whole community use the Growth Mindset approach and positive thinking.
All staff are fully committed to supporting this ethos and have continued training throughout the year to ensure that they are confident to promote positive mental health and are skilled in supporting and signposting children.

We promoted positive mental health in school by dressing up as superheroes and celebrating our unique powers.
We designed masks, shared our superpowers in groups and ended the day with a "Link of Unity" around the playground. The whole school linked hands and had a quiet time for reflection, children were encouraged to remember that "It's ok to not be ok"
